SOCRATES ACADEMY Spelling Bee Schedule

November 7 -10, 2011:  Practice Spelling Bees

Teachers will be conducting practice Bees in their classrooms throughout this week.                                                                

November 15, 2011:  Final Classroom Spelling Bees - All Final Bees determining a 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place winner from each class will be conducted on this date. 

*** This is the Final Bee to determine which students advance in the Bee process.  If your child is not present for this Bee, he/she will not be able to participate in any other Bees after this one. (This correlates with Local and Regional rules and Scripps National Bee regulations.)***

The teachers and times are listed below:

Kindergarten:  Howle - 8:45 a.m.  Seid - 9:15 a.m.  Davis - 2:00 p.m. 
Lammers - 8:30 a.m.

1^st Grade:  Fischer - 2:30 p.m.   Linden - 2:30 p.m.   Goodman - 9:00 a.m.  
Short - 9:05 a.m.

2^nd Grade:  Brown - 9:00 a.m.  Torre - 12:30 p.m.   McGill - 9:00 a.m.    
Nickolopoulos - 12:30 p.m.

3^rd Grade:  Fabiniak - 9:05 a.m.   Frederick - 12:00 p.m.   Walters - 9:05 a.m.

4^th Grade:  Kelly - 8:15 a.m.   Galanis - 9:05 a.m.  Harris - 9:55 a.m.

5^th Grade:  Gibbons - 9:55 a.m.   Smith - 10:45 a.m.   Van Alphen - 1:40 p.m.

6^th Grade:  G1 Salema - 2:30 p.m.  G2 Sawyers - 2:30 p.m. 
G3 Taft/Montague - 2:30 p.m.

7^th Grade:  G4 Schutzman/Latzos - 2:30 p.m.  G5 Vaden - 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, November 17, 2011: Grade Level Spelling Bees (K,1^st,2^nd Grades)

A 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place Speller will be selected from each grade level to represent at the K-2 Spelling Bee.  These Bees will take place in the New Building Area.

Kindergarten: 8:30 a.m.

First Grade:  9:30 a.m.

Second Grade: 10:30 a.m.

Monday, November 21, 2011:  Grade Level Spelling Bees (3^rd, 4^th, 5^th)

A 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place Speller will be selected from each grade level to represent at the 3-7 Spelling Bee.  These Bees will take place in the New Building Area.

Third Grade:  12:30 p.m.

Fourth Grade:  9:00 a.m.

Fifth Grade:  1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011:  Grade Level Spelling Bees (6^th & 7^th)

A 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place Speller will be selected from each grade level to represent at the 3-7 Spelling Bee.  These Bees will take place in the New Building Area.

Sixth Grade: 9:30 a.m.

Seventh Grade:  1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 29, 2011: 

K-2 Spelling Bee

 In the Gym       12:30 p.m.

*There will be an Overall K-2 Champion Speller and a Runner-up selected.

3-7 Spelling Bee

In the Gym         9:00 a.m.

*There will be an Overall 3-7 Champion Speller and a Runner-up selected. (The Overall 3-7 Champion Speller and Runner -up will represent Socrates Academy at the Charter School Spelling Bee.)

Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.:  School Wide Spelling Bee

*The 4 winners from the K-2 and 3-7 Bees will participate in this Spelling Bee at 9:00 a.m. in the Gym.  The whole school is invited to watch and support this effort.  An overall Spelling Champion and a Runner-up will be selected.

***If you do not want your scholar to participate in the Spelling Bees, please send a written note to your scholar's home base teacher by November 7, 2011.
