Greek
The benefit to having studied Greek Language in addition to another Foreign Language in High School, is that the Greek Language credits may make the student stand out and look unique against his/her competition and they are the root of many scientific and literary terms. ​Signature Experiences
6th Grade ~ Camping
Students learn new skills, practice team building and work toward being their best self in Camp Thunderbird's 100+ acre playground.

7th Grade ~ Roller Coasters and Physics
Our Scholars experience Carowinds from a scientific perspective, learning about physics, motion and speed.

7th Grade ~ Yiasou Festival
Scholars experience Greek culture, food and music first hand by attending Charlotte's own Yiasou Festival!

7th Grade ~ Trip to Greece
Every summer our 7th grade scholars have the opportunity to travel to Greece as a group with the school. This trip is sponsored and organized by individuals in the U.S. and Greece and is an outstanding opportunity for our scholars! For the price of an airline ticket, our scholars can expand their learning experience from the classroom to the real world where they can apply their knowledge of the Greek language and culture, as well as visit and explore places they have thus far only seen in books!

8th Grade ~ History and the Capitol
Our 8th grade students spend approximately a week, touring our nations capital and experiencing all Washington D.C. has to offer.
High School Credits Earned in Middle School

Students who received a final grade of “C” or better in 3 years of Middle School Spanish or Chinese class will receive credit for Spanish I or Chinese I. This will allow them to take Spanish II or Chinese II when they begin High School. Check with your High School Guidance Counselor for more information on transferring language credits.

Socrates Students who take 3 years of Greek Language and receive a Final Grade of at least a “C” average in each class are given up to 3 High School credits in Greek Language.

The Ellinomatheia exam is not associated with High School credit. At this time, however passing this exam gives you college credit to University of North Carolina CHARLOTTE, (UNCC) only.
