Socrates Academy Athletics is about more than winning or losing. We honor and celebrate the countless hours of hard work dedicated to self-improvement, supporting our teammates, and enhancing our teams. Our focus is on competing together, caring for one another, playing the game with integrity, and having fun!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What sports does SA offer in Middle School?

SA currently offers Co-ed Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Co-ed Track, and Cheerleading. These sports are offered to 6th-12th grade students. 

 

Are Middle School Sports Try-Out sports?

Track, Cross-Country, and Tennis are sports where athletes are not required to try out.

What sports does SA offer at the Lower School level?

SA currently offers 3rd-5th grade basketball during the months of December through February. We also offer 2nd-5th grade soccer during the months of September through October.

What sports does SA offer at the Upper School Level?

We currently offer Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country, Tennis, and Cheerleading. As our student population increases and our high school grows, we expect to offer additional athletics opportunities.

Who coaches the SA Teams?

Check the Annual SA Athletic Schedule under the Teams Information tab for details on each individual sport.​

 

Does SA plan on constructing a new basketball gym and other athletic facilities along with the SA Upper School expansion?

Yes, under the new project plans, SA does plan on constructing a new US Gym that will be used primarily for US PE and both US and MS Games. Also in our construction plans, SA plans to construct a new athletic soccer field with a track around.

How can I get involved as a parent in the SA Athletic Program?

In 2018, the SA Athletic Program announced the creation of the SA Owl Club. The SA Owl Club is similar to an athletics booster club. Parent volunteers work with our Athletic Director collectively on ways to improve and help the SA Athletic Program.
