MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM
Middle School Greek language study at Socrates Academy is structured into three leveled courses: Beginner (for new students), Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level focuses on developing proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Beginner courses introduce basic vocabulary and grammar, Intermediate courses expand on language skills and cultural knowledge, and Advanced courses emphasize fluency and complex language use. The curriculum integrates Greek culture and history, fostering a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the language.
Our program also prepares students to pass various levels of the Ellinomathia exam, an internationally recognized assessment that certifies proficiency in the Greek language. Passing this exam is a key goal for students, as it demonstrates their mastery of the language and opens doors for future academic and cultural opportunities.
At Socrates Academy Middle School, math instruction is available in Greek across three levels: Beginner (for new students), Intermediate, and Advanced.
- **Beginner Level:** Students are introduced to fundamental math concepts and vocabulary, focusing on basic arithmetic and problem-solving skills.
- **Intermediate Level:** Students build on foundational knowledge with more complex topics such as fractions, geometry, and basic algebra, all taught in Greek.
- **Advanced Level:** Students cover higher-level math concepts including advanced algebra, geometry, and introductory calculus, promoting fluency in both math and Greek terminology.
